LAS VEGAS – Nevada women's tennis falls 4-0 to No. 55 UNLV Friday afternoon in a Silver State series presented by America First Credit Union.
The Pack (8-9, 3-6 MW) dropped the doubles point to fall into an early 1-0 hole after the Rebels claimed wins at Nos. 1 and 2. UNLV's Molly Helgesson and Salsa Aher took Nevada's
Audrey Moutama and Amahée Charrier 6-1, while Cindy Hu and Coco Zhao defeated Amahée Charrier and
Lou-Anne Guerbert 6-4.
In singles, the Rebels continued the momentum with wins at Nos. 1, 5, and 6. At No. 6, Aura Fang took Nevada's
Audrey Moutama 6-2, 6-1, while Coca Zhao defeated
Wiem Boubaker 6-1, 7-6 at No. 5. It would be UNLV's Molly Helgesson at No. 1 to clinch the match for the Rebels, taking
Anastasia Luneva 6-4, 7-5.
Nevada will look to bounce back tomorrow against San Diego State at Fertitta Tennis Complex, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
