Fresno, Calif. - Nevada dropped the first game of the series, 5-4, against Fresno State Friday afternoon.
Haley Painter put Nevada on the board with a single to left field that drove Maile Olsen across the plate in the top of the fifth.
Hailey Prahm hit tied the game 4-4 with a three-RBI home run in the sixth inning. The home run was the second of the season for Prahm.
Madison Clark and Prahm tallied two hits in the game, while Charli Hawkins, Gabby Herrera, Haylee Engelbrecht, and Maile Olsen recorded a hit each.
Blake Craft was the starter of the game in the circle. Craft gave up two hits, two runs, and two walks before Tyra Clary came in to relief. Clary pitched 4.2 innings, allowing four hits, two runs, a walk, and one strikeout.
Carley Brown came in to lead the defense in the bottom of the sixth inning. Brown gave up four hits and a run for the 5-4 loss after a walk-off single by the Bulldogs.
