Nevada wins thrilling 4-3 match over San Diego State

SAN DIEGO – After falling 4-2 to UNLV in Las Vegas Friday, Nevada men's tennis took charge and bounced back against the San Diego State Aztecs, coming up with the 4-3-win Sunday to split the weekend, moving to 9-7 on the season, 3-2 in Mountain West play.
 
The Pack dropped the doubles point after the Aztecs picked up wins at Nos. 2 and 3, but Nevada quickly went to work in singles play. After Delmas N'Tcha fell to Chikaya Sato 6-0, 6-0, Satchel Benn defeated San Diego State's Andre Saleh 6-3, 6-3 at No. 6, while Matheo Coupu fought off Johannes Seeman winning sets two and three 6-4, 6-4 after falling 6-7 in the first set to bring the Pack even with the Aztecs 2-2 into the final three matches.
 
At No. 4, Pedro Liborio took Alexander Mandma 3-6, 6-0, 6-4 to give the Pack the 3-2 lead. San Diego State's Eugenio Gonzalez Fitzmaurice defeated Nevada's Juan Batalla 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 to once again tie it all up at three a piece, with the final match on the line. After battling back and forth, Youssef Kadiri Hassani clinched the match for Nevada with his 7-5 win in the third set against Bora Sengul, coming back after winning the first set 6-3 and falling short the second 7-5.
 
Nevada ends the regular season next week in Reno at McArthur Tennis Center, marking their last home match of the season taking on Boise State Thursday, April 20 at 12:00 p.m.
