RENO, Nev. -Â Nevada Sports Net will air Wolf Pack football's spring game for the third straight season, NSN and Nevada athletics announced Tuesday.
The Battle Born Showdown will be played April 22 at 1:30 p.m. at Mackay Stadium, a showcase event that culminates Nevada's 15 spring camp practices. Admission to the game is free to the public, and the scrimmage is expected to run for roughly 2.5 hours. Further details on the scrimmage's format will be released at a later time.
"We are thrilled to bring the Nevada football spring game into the homes and onto the phones of Wolf Pack fans," NSN director of operations Anthony Resnick said. "This is further proof of NSN's dedication to delivering high quality live local events to Northern Nevada sports fans. We want to thank Nevada athletics for partnering with us to broadcast the game as Wolf Pack fans eagerly await the upcoming football season."
The broadcast will include a 30-minute pre-game show leading into the call of the game from NSN's Alex Margulies and color commentator Mike Edwards, a Wolf Pack Hall of Fame offensive lineman. The game also will stream for free on NevadaSportsNet.com.
After last year's 2-10 season, Nevada returns seven offensive players and six on defense who started at least five games in 2022. The Wolf Pack added a half-dozen transfers from the Pac-12 this offseason to bolster its roster, including RB Sean Dollars (Oregon), RB Ashton Hayes (Cal), DL Henry Ikahihifo (Cal), LB Jackson LaDuke (Oregon), TE Keleki Latu (Cal) and QB Brendon Lewis (Colorado). Nevada opens the season Sept. 2 against USC.
During the 2022-23 athletic season, NSN has broadcast 12 Wolf Pack men's basketball games; 10 women's basketball games; four football games; four volleyball matches; and is in the middle of a 22-game Nevada baseball and softball package.
NSN, which debuted in September 2018, is the state's only full-time sports channel. In Northern Nevada, NSN is available over the air on channel 21; Charter channel 787 in HD or 7 in SD; DirecTV and Dish Network on channel 21; or on AT&T U-verse channel 1021 in HD or 21 in SD. The games can be seen from the following counties: Washoe, Carson, Humboldt, Churchill, Pershing, Douglas, Lyon, Mineral, Lassen, Lander and Eureka.
