RENO, Nev. - Nevada won the first game of the series 12-4 against Utah State Friday afternoon.
Blake Craft recorded the win against the Aggies. Craft gave up five hits, four runs, five walks, and strikeout seven players. Tyra Clary came into relief Craft in the top of the sixth. Clary shut out the Aggies with three strikeouts.
Utah State started on the board with two runs in the top of the third. Nevada filled the bases with back-to-back walks to score the first run with a walk by Maile Olsen.
Nevada scored two RBI walks before Aaliyah Jenkins singled to right field and drove three players across for the Pack to extend the lead to 6-2.
Charli Hawkins scored her seventh home run of the season with a deep ball to center field in the bottom of the seventh.
Hailey Painter hit her third home run of the season in the bottom of the sixth to extend the lead to 9-4.
Madison Clark singled to left field and scored Bradianne Glover in the same inning. Tatum Maytorena's walk-off double to the right center closed the game 12-4 in the bottom of the sixth.
