BOISE, Idaho – Nevada women's tennis drops their first match of the weekend, falling 4-0 to Boise State at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center Saturday afternoon, moving to 5-4 on the season.
The Broncos got to work quickly in doubles play, Pauline Ernstberger and Shauna Heffernan defeating Nevada's
Wiem Boubaker and
Gabriella Charalampidi 6-0 at No. 3, while Nicole Discenza and Lorelyz Marruffo took the victory over
Mariana Campino and Amahée Charrier 6-1, to capture the doubles point and take the early 1-0 lead over the Pack.
Carrying that momentum into singles matches, all of Boise State's victories were won in straight sets. It was first Discenza at No. 6, defeating Charalampidi 6-1, 6-0, with Joana Baptista next taking Campino 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4. At No. 4, Heffernan sealed the victory for the Broncos with her match win over Boubaker 6-3, 6-3 to finish the day.
The Pack (5-4) continue their weekend in Boise, competing in a neutral site match Sunday against Utah State. First serve is set for 12:00 p.m. PST at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center. Live stats will be available to follow along with during the match, HERE.
