HOUSTON, Texas -Â Nevada swim and dive concluded the third day of races on Friday afternoon. The Pack still sits in third place, with 655 points. San Diego State, with 1119 points, leads the meet while UNLV is in second, with 712.5 points.Â
Senior Benedict Nagy defended her title in the 400 IM as she finished with a time of 4:11.29. This is Nagy's third consecutive championship in the event. Senior Destiny Kling won the C-final to conclude the race in 17th place with a 4:24.94.
Josien Wijkhuijs capture two silver medals this evening, one in the 100 butterfly and the other in the 100 backstroke. In the 100 fly, Wijkhuijs dropped a personal best with a 53.15, while in the 100 back, the senior finished with a 53.04.Â
Kyla Alexander joined Wijkhuijs in the 100 backstroke and finished the race in fourth place with a 53.85. Daniela Piccinini represented the Pack in the C-final and finished in 18th place with a 56.89.Â
Wiktoria Samula was the Pack representative in the championship final of the 100 breaststroke. Samula finished in eighth place with a 1:01.63. Nicolette Jasko also swam the event as she finished in 16th place with a 1:04.07, while Anslee Dickerson (1:04.29) was 23rd.Â
Mariana Vignoli ended the 200 free in 24th place with a 1:52.10.Â
Nevada's 200 free relay started the evening of finals with a 6th-place finish. Wijkhuijs, Jablonska, Alexander, and Berkenfield finished the race with a 1:32.71.Â
