Women's Basketball

Nevada hosts Boise State for Black History Night Thursday

RENO, Nev. - Nevada women's basketball comes back to Lawlor Events Center to take on Boise State on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in Black History Night.

Larry Burnett will have the call on 94.1 FM/1450 AM with a 20 minute pregame show prior to tipoff. Fans can also listen live online through the Varsity Network. The game will be available to watch on Nevada Sports Net and live stats can be accessed through Sidearm.

Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance online for Thursday's game, with tickets starting at just $3 online. Tickets will be available for purchase on site for $13 for adults and $8 for youth. In addition to the usual home game activities, Thursday's game will celebrate Black History Month and honor the men and women who have made an impact and continue to make impact today.

The Pack is looking at having multiple players pass the 500 career point mark. Junior forward Lexie Givens surpassed the 500 career point mark on Jan. 21 against Fresno State. Sophomore guard Audrey Roden is just one point away from reaching the half century mark for points. She would be just the third player under head coach Amanda Levens to score 500 points at Nevada by their sophomore year.

This year's Nevada women's basketball team ranks sixth in the Mountain West in steals per game with a 8.9 mark. Jimenez became the seventh player since 2013 to record 100 career steals. She is the fastest player since 2013 to reach that mark.

Ormiston averaged 7.9 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game as a freshman before an injury ended her sophomore season last year. Ormiston has stepped into a larger role this season, being one of three players to post multiple double-doubles and scored 26 points in a game twice this year. She is in Nevada's Speech Pathology and Audiology graduate program, being one of 40 students selected.

SCOUTING BOISE STATE
Boise State makes their second trip to Reno during the 2022-23 season after coming off a huge win over San Diego State on Monday. The Broncos, who competed in the 2022 Nugget Classic at Lawlor Events Center, have scored 66.1 points per game and outrebounded their opponents by 6.2 rebounds per game.

Elodie Lalotte leads Boise State, averaging 10.6 points per game and
grabbing 6.5 rebounds per game. Dani Bayes has proven herself to be one of the top freshman in the Mountain West, being Boise State's second-leading scorer with a 9.1 points per game average.
