RENO, Nev. - The Nevada Men's Basketball team defeated Stanislaus State 84-80 in their final tune-up before their regular-season opener on Tuesday, November 7 against Sacramento State at Lawlor Events Center.
The Pack had an impressive offensive outing Wednesday night, knocking down 46.2 percent of their field goal attempts and 37.5 percent of their 3-point attempts, while hitting 30 free throws throughout the contest.
Jarod Lucas led the way offensively for the Pack, pouring in a game-high 21 points on 6-13 shooting from the field, 3-6 from behind the arc, and a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line. Lucas also finished second on the team in assists, dishing out three in the contest. The fifth-year senior recorded a game-high plus/minus of +11 across 31 minutes of action.
Kenan Blackshear and freshman Tyler Rolison also reached double-figures in scoring for the Pack, with Blackshear putting up 12 points and Rolison chipping in 10 of his own.
Blackshear tallied a team-high four assists, as well as five rebounds, one steal, and one block in 24 minutes of playing time. The fifth-year senior did an exceptional job of getting to the free throw line, knocking down 8-10 attempts at the line.
Rolison was stellar off the bench for Nevada, scoring 10 points on 4-7 shooting from the field, in addition to grabbing five rebounds and dishing out two assists.
Tre Coleman and Nick Davidson also had significant impacts on the game for the Pack. Coleman scored nine points on an efficient 3-4 shooting from the field, and the senior completed the contest with a plus/minus of +6, good for second-best in the contest behind Lucas. Davidson also managed to score nine points, in addition to pulling down five rebounds.
Nevada received a strong offensive burst from Freshman Jazz Gardner off the bench, as Gardner scored seven points on 2-3 shooting from the field in just 12 minutes of action. Gardner also grabbed five rebounds and had one block in the contest.
Throughout the game, the Pack did an outstanding job of taking care of the ball, completing the contest with just eight total turnovers.
