SERIES HISTORY
Colorado State leads the all-time series with Nevada, 13-5, although the teams have split the past 10 meetings since 2006. The Pack is 3-4 against the Rams since joining the Mountain West in 2012, with one of those victories being in the 2015 Arizona Bowl.
ABOUT COLORADO STATE
Colorado State (4-6, 2-4 MW) stopped a three-game losing streak Saturday, defeating San Diego State, 22-19, in Fort Collins. The Rams made the switch to Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi at quarterback, and Fowler-Nicolosi has thrown for 2,898 yards and 14 touchdowns, with six apiece going to Tory Horton (81 catches, 872 yards) and Dallin Holker (57 catches, 710 yards).
CLOSING THE ROAD SCHEDULE
Saturday's game in Fort Collins will mark the Wolf Pack's final trip of the season, and the second time in three seasons that the team's regular-season road slate has ended at Colorado State.
In that 2021 regular-season road finale, Nevada jumped all over the Rams, taking a 31-0 halftime lead en route to a 52-10 victory.
BIG DAY ON TAP FOR THE PACK RECEIVERS?
Wide receiver
Dalevon Campbell led Nevada with five catche for 74 yards and a touchdown Saturday at Utah State, while
Spencer Curtis had three catches for 56 yards.
History would suggest that a Nevada receiver is poised for a big game against Colorado State--since 1998, Wolf Pack receivers have posted 12(!) 100-yard performances against the Rams. Two 100-yard games came in the 2017 meeting (150 yards for McLane Mannix, 111 for Brendan O'Leary-Orange), so the Pack has had a 100-yard receiving game in 11 of the 18 all-time meetings with the Rams. The most recent 100-yard receiving game against Colorado State came by former Wolf Pack and current Ram receiver Tory Horton, who had four catches for 113 yards and two scores in Nevada's 52-10 win in 2021.
JOHNSON CONTINUES CAREER SEASON WITH PICK AT UTAH STATE
Sixth-year safety
Emany Johnson made his third interception of the season Saturday at Utah State, continuing what has been a career year. And, if not for a holding penalty calling his return back, Johnson would have had the Pack's second defensive touchdown of the season.
The Richmond, Calif., native leads the Nevada defense in tackles (78) and interceptions (three), along with having 2.5 tackles-for-loss and a forced fumble. He is currently on a solid six-game run, racking up 60 tackles (52 solo) with three picks and a TFL. In that stretch, he has three double digit-tackle games (10 against Kansas on Sept. 16, career-high 12 against UNLV on Oct. 14, 10 against New Mexico on Oct. 28), and one two-INT game (Sept. 30 at Fresno State).
BIANCO SHOWS POTENTIAL IN FIRST START
Redshirt freshman quarterback
AJ Bianco made his first-career start Saturday at Utah State, and showed his potential for the future.
Bianco went 13-for-25 for 161 yards and two touchdowns against the Aggies, but his one interception was returned 63 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. He also continued to prove adept with his legs, rushing for a career-best 74 yards.
SUPPORT LOCAL!
Tight end
Cameron Zeidler, a Reno native and product of North Valleys High School, caught his first-career touchdown Saturday at Utah State, going for 21 yards.
While the scoring grab was the first for a Pack tight end since 2021 (Cole Turner), it had special local significance. Zeidler's touchdown was the first by a Wolf Pack player from a Washoe County high school since Hunter Fralick (Spanish Springs HS) in 2015, and the first by a northern Nevada native since Reagan Roberson (Gardnerville) in 2018.
