LA JOLLA, Calif. – Nevada men's tennis' weekend opened with a 4-3 defeat by UC San Diego Friday afternoon.

After playing an exhibition match against Point Loma Friday morning, the Pack fought a tough battle to the end against UC San Diego in the afternoon, but ultimately fall to 0-1 on the year.

The Pack clinched wins in doubles play at Nos. 2 and 1, with partners
Matheo Coupu and one of the newest members of the squad,
Pedro Liborio, to defeat Daniel Traxler and Wiliiam Lan, 6-4.
Loris Zisswiller and
Satchel Benn followed suit with a 6-2 win over Pelayo Rodriguez and Phillip Lan.

In singles play, Nevada battled in a well-fought showdown with wins at Nos. 2 and 4.
Pedro Liborio defeated Phillip Lan, 6-4, 6-4, while Yousseff Kadiri got the victory over Jett Cole winning the first set 7-6 and coming back after falling short in the second set 4-6, to finish the match 6-3. UC San Diego's Charles Qian would go on to secure the win over Nevada at No. 6 against
Juan Batalla with the win in a close last set of 6-4.

Nevada continues its weekend action Sunday with another match against UC San Diego, scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
