RENO, Nev. -Â Nevada point guard
Grant Sherfield was named to the USBWA All-District VIII Team for the second-straight season, the organization announced Wednesday.
The USBWA's District VIII comprises Division I schools in the states of Nevada, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming.
Through the 2021-22 regular season, Sherfield ranked fifth in the Mountain West and 44th in the nation with 19.1 points per game, and his 6.39 assists per game led the conference and ranked fourth in the country. He was the only player in the country to average at least 19 points and six assists per game.
His 87.1 free-throw percentage was also third-best in the Mountain West and his 1.97 assist-to-turnover ratio fifth.
Sherfield posted 15 20-point performances on the season, including a pair of 30-point games (31 vs. George Mason Nov. 23; 30 vs. San Diego State March 5). He also had five double-doubles, with four of those being of the points-assists variety.
