HAVEN'T SEEN YOU GUYS MUCH, LATELY
In a rare occurrence between teams in the same conference, Tuesday night marks the first meeting between Nevada and San José State in over two years.
The last meeting of the teams was a 95-77 Nevada victory, in Reno, Feb. 8, 2020. The next four scheduled games between the programs since then have each been affected by COVID-19 issues. A scheduled two-game series in San Jose last Feb. 13 and 15 was postponed due to COVID issues with Nevada, then a rescheduled game March 3 in San Jose was canceled due to COVID issues within San José State's program.
This season, the originally-scheduled Dec. 29 conference opener in San José was postponed due to COVID issues with San José State.
WHAT A LAST FOUR FOR CAMBRIDGE JR.
Redshirt senior guard
Desmond Cambridge Jr. has been absolutely on fire over Nevada's past four games, averaging 24.3 points and 6.8 rebounds while shooting 58.3 percent from the field and an incredible 62.5 percent (20-for-32) from 3-point range.

Cambridge Jr. has also ratcheted up the defensive intensity, this season. Not only does he draw the assignment of defending the opponent's top guard, but, in Mountain West play, he leads Nevada in blocks (22) and steals (19), while ranking ... in the conference in MW-only games.
SHERFIELD'S RETURN CRITICAL FOR PACK PRODUCTION
The return to action of starting point guard
Grant Sherfield, who missed three games (Feb. 1-6) due to a foot issue, Feb. 8 against Colorado State has reignited Nevada's offensive efficiency.
Over the three games without Sherfield, the team's leader in scoring and assists, Nevada made just 20.3 field goals per game and passed out 10.3 assists per game. Over the past two games (Sherfield's return), Nevada upped those numbers to 28.0 field goals made and 16.5 assists. In fact, over the nine Mountain West games with Sherfield running the point, the Wolf Pack averages 24.8 made field goals and 14.2 assists per game.
