RENO, Nev. -Nevada volleyball defeated the Fresno State Bulldogs, 3-1, at the final match of the season Saturday afternoon.

Kayla Afoa led the Pack offense with 17 kills in a .316 hitting percentage.

Afoa also recorded 14 digs, two assists, and two aces in her last match at the Virginia Street Gym.

Andrea Alcaraz reached the 2,000 mark in assists during today's match after recording 33 assists. Alcaraz was also a key player for the Pack defense, with 10 digs and one service ace.

How it happened

Nevada jumped early on the scoreboard as they opened a 5-1 lead. The Bulldogs did not catch up on the score, and the Pack closed the set 25-20.

The Bulldogs did not let the Pack keep their momentum going, as they held the score tied until the 16-15 mark, where Fresno State took the lead. Nevada kept the score within two points, but the Bulldogs closed the set 25-22.

The teams battled through the third set as they kept the score within two points going into the media timeout, with Nevada leading 15-13. The Pack held the lead to close the set 25-20.

Nevada took an early lead in the set that led the Bulldogs to call a timeout at the 12-7 mark. The Pack continued in the lead, which forced Fresno State to call their second timeout of the set. Nevada continued with their momentum as they closed the set 25-16, and the match 3-1.

Nevada concludes the 2022 season with a 14-15 record.
