Nevada women’s tennis inks Amahée Carrier for the 2023-24 season

RENO, Nev. – Nevada women's tennis head coach Guillaume Tonelli has officially announced the signing of French native Amahée Carrier, to the 2023-2024 season.

"We are very excited about adding Amahée to our team," says Tonelli. "She is a great player and she will be a great asset for us. We cannot wait to kick off the season in January with her."

Originally from Chambray les-tours, France, Charrier comes to Nevada from French Touch Academy in Cap d'agde, France, where she competed in the sport for 10 years at the junior and club levels, racking up a successful start to her career. Charrier obtained a Juniors Singles Title in October at the J4 Al Zahra Tournament in Australia, earning a career-high ranking of 497 in the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

This year, Charrier has posted an 18-7 overall record in singles play and an 8-4 overall record in doubles play, which will bring added depth to the women's squad in both areas.

Charrier will make her debut with the Pack towards the middle of January, when the team travels to Point Loma, while Nevada looks to wrap their fall tennis slate this weekend at the SDSU Fall Classic. The 2021-2022 season saw an overall record of 10-11 and the squad saw through the first two rounds of the Mountain West Championship, upsetting No. 1 Fresno State in the quarterfinals, before falling to UNLV. Sophomore Mariana Campino finished her first season with the Pack with a team singles best of 13 wins, 13-5 overall, and was named Mountain West Freshman of the Year.
