Mountain West announces men’s basketball TV schedule

RENO, Nev. – Twelve Nevada Men's Basketball Mountain West contests will be broadcast nationally in 2022-23, as the conference announced its network TV schedule Thursday.

The Pack will have a 13th game broadcast nationally, as its non-conference contest at Oregon is set for a 4 p.m. tip on Pac-12 Networks.

All 12 Wolf Pack contests selected in the Mountain West package are in conference play, beginning Wednesday, Jan. 4, against Colorado State at Lawlor Events Center at 7:30 p.m. on FS1. Six Nevada home contests and six on the road were selected for national broadcast, and tip times were set for 10 of the 12 contests.

Five of those home contests had prior game dates updated. The Pack will now host home games Wednesday, Jan. 4 (Colorado State, 7:30 p.m.), Friday, Jan. 13 (Utah State, 8 p.m.), Monday, Jan. 23 (New Mexico, 6 p.m.), Friday, Feb. 3 (Air Force, 8 p.m.), and Friday, Feb. 10 (Fresno State, 8 p.m.). Nevada's home contest against San Diego State, set for an 8 p.m. tip and broadcast on CBS Sports Network, remains set for Tuesday, Jan. 31.

On the road, the Pack's national TV games include: Tuesday, Jan. 10 at San Diego State (8 p.m., CBS Sports Network), Saturday, Jan. 28 at UNLV (time TBD, CBS Sports Network), Tuesday, Feb. 7 at New Mexico (7:30 p.m. PT, FS1), Saturday, Feb. 18 at Utah State (time TBD, CBS Sports Net), Friday, Feb. 24 at Fresno State (8 p.m., FS1), and Monday, Feb. 27 at Wyoming (6 p.m. PT, CBS Sports Network).

Additionally, tip times have been set for Nevada's Oct. 21 exhibition against Cal State East Bay (4:30 p.m.), and its Nov. 12 non-conference matchup with Grand Canyon at Lawlor Events Center (2 p.m.).

The Pack returns six letterwinners in 2022-23, including starters Will Baker, the team's leading returning scorer and rebounder at 11.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per game while shooting 54.6 from the field and 39.4 percent from 3-point range, and guard Kenan Blackshear, who averaged 8.1 points while passing out 2.68 assists per contest.

Nevada will be bolstered by a highly-touted class of newcomers featuring transfers Jarod Lucas (Hacienda Heights, Calif. / Oregon State / Los Altos HS), Hunter McIntosh (Snellville, Ga. / Elon / Greater Atlanta Christian School), Tyler Powell (Los Angeles, Calif. / Seton Hall / Ribet Acadmey), and Michael Folarin (London, England / Eastern Washington), along with prep signees Darrion Williams (Las Vegas, Nev. / Bishop Gorman HS) and Trey Pettigrew (Chicago, Ill. / Kenwood Academy).
