STOCKTON, Calif. - Nevada swim wrapped up the first day of the Pacific Invitational ahead of Simon Fraser and Pacific on Saturday afternoon. The Pack leads the dual meet against Simon Fraser, 86-68, and against Pacific, 96-58.Â
The Pack squad took four wins out of eight events on the first day. The day started with the 200 medley relay, composed by
Kyla Alexander,
Wiktoria Samula,
Josien Wijkhuijs, and
Martyna Jablonska took the win with a time of 1:46.61.Â
Nevada continued the momentum as Wijkhuijs won the 100 backstroke with 57.07. Alexander followed Wijkhuijs after being placed second with a time of 58.76.
Continuing the Wolf Pack breaststroke tradition,
Wiktoria Samula secured the win of the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.16.Â
In the 200 freestyle,
Mariana Vignoli took the win by the touch with a time of 1:54.28.
Destiny Kling,
Reka Nagy,
Valerie Kitchens, and
Caitlin Smith represented the Pack in the 400 IM. Kling secured second place with a time of 4:44.71, followed by Nagy (4:47.00) in fifth, Kitchens (4:55.59) in eighth, and Smith (4:55.53) in ninth.Â
Wijkhuijs finished in third place in the 50 freestyle, with a time of 24.05, as her third event of the day.Â
Smith represented the Pack in the 200 fly, finishing in second place with a time of 2:12.44. Nagy (2:18.94) and
Simone Sapico (2:19.84) concluded the race in the seventh and eighth place, respectively.Â
Nevada finished the day with second place in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:37.06, composed by Vignoli,
Colette Berkenfield, Alexander, and Jablonska.
