Logan, Utah - The Nevada volleyball team falls to Utah State in 3-1 on Thursday. The Aggies won the first set, 25-22. The Pack was able to tie the match after winning the second set 25-19 but fell the last two in 25-23, and 25-18.

Leading the Pack was senior Kyla Waiters with 14 kills, four block assists, and two digs. Junior Andrea Alcaraz finished the match with 20 assists and 13 digs. Senior Kaila Spevak led the Pack defense with 14 digs, while junior Sydney Petersen had a total of seven block assists. 

In the first set, Utah State took an early lead, but Nevada was able to tie the game in 15-15 after a solo block by Reka Monteleone, forcing the Aggies to call a timeout. The Pack was able to hold the Aggies, but a kill closed the set 25-22. Petersen led the team on the set with four kills and two blocks assists.

Coming off strong, Nevada took the lead and was able to lead the set into a victory. The Pack scored 14 kills, and seven total blocks, and the solo block by freshman Sydney Wyman, closed the set in 25-19. Waiters led the team with 6 kills and two block assists in the set. 

In the third set, Utah State made a five-score run at the beginning of the set. The Pack was able to tie the game in 10-10 but was not able to take the lead. Nevada was able to stop two set points after a timeout, but Utah State closed the set in 25-23. Waiters and Wyman led the Pack with 3 kills in the set, with a .222 and 1.000 hitting percentage. 

After creating a five-point lead, the Aggies took control of the set after sequencing of service aces, and blocks. The Pack was not able to make a comeback, and the Aggies closed the match in 25-18. Freshman Sia Liilii led the team offense with five kills. 

The Pack as a team had 49 kills, .221 hitting percentage, 45 assists, 48 digs, 12 total blocks, and five service aces.
