Carson Strong today was named to the 2021 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Top 25 list.
Through three games this season, Strong has thrown for 955 yards and seven touchdowns with a 68.03 completion percentage and a QBR of 149.44. He is 5th in completions per game (27.67) and 10th in passing yards per game (318.3) among FBS quarterbacks.

Strong is coming off a 2020 campaign in which he was named the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Year and to its First Team.
In 2020, he paced the conference in passing yards (2,858), passing touchdowns (27), completion percentage (70.1), and ranked in the FBS top 10 in completions per game (27.7, second), passing yards per game (317.6, seventh), completion percentage (seventh), and touchdown passes (ninth), while coming in 11th in passing yards. Strong also finished the year with an interception rate of just 1.13, throwing just four picks over 355 attempts.
ABOUT THE UNITAS GOLDEN ARM AWARD
The namesake of the Golden Arm Award has a storied history. Johnny Unitas was an 18-year veteran of the NFL, who played his collegiate career at the University of Louisville before joining the Baltimore Colts in 1958. His career passing figures include 2,830 pass completions for 40,239 yards, 290 touchdowns, and throwing a touchdown pass in 47 consecutive games.
The 2021 award winner will be presented the Golden Arm Award trophy by The Johnny Unitas Educational Foundation President, John Unitas, Jr., at the Golden Arm Award banquet and celebration at the Four Seasons Hotel in Baltimore, MD on Friday, December 10, 2021.
