RENO, Nev. – Nevada wide receiver/punt returner
Romeo Doubs was named to the Paul Hornung Award Watch List Thursday. The Paul Hornung Award is given each season to the most versatile player in major college football.
It is the third national preseason watch list to which Doubs has been named in 2021, joining the lists for the Maxwell Award and Biletnikoff Award.
Doubs shared the Mountain West lead with nine touchdown catches (with teammate
Cole Turner), and his conference-best 1,002 receiving yards made him the loop's only 1,000-yard receiver. Doubs also claimed the punt-returner spot on last year's All-Mountain West Second Team, averaging 9.1 yards per return.
Nevada opens the 2021 season Saturday, Sept. 4 at California, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. on FS1. The Pack's home opener takes place the following weekend, as it hosts Idaho State Saturday, Sept. 11, at 7:30 p.m.
