Ader scratches from NCAA Outdoor Finals after injury

RENO, NEV. – Senior Nicola Ader competed in the first day of events in the heptathlon but was not able to finish due to an injury.

Ader competed in the first event of the heptathlon which was the 100 meter hurdles, where she finished with a time of 14.33. This time was good enough for 932 points and was the 23rd best time. Ader's best time during the 2021 outdoor season was 13.79 at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships. 

The next event she would compete in was the high jump, where Ader finished with the 9th best height. Her height of 1.66m was good enough for 806 points. Ader's best height of the season was 1.77m. This was also at the MW Outdoor Championships.

The third and last event of her day was the shot put. Ader finished with a distance of 11.04m that earned her 598 points and was the 21st best in the heptathlon. Her season best was 11.50m. 

Ader would not be able to finish the day, as she scratched from the competition due to an injury. The senior was ranked 21st with 2,336 points in the heptathlon with two of her best events (the long jump and javelin) happening tomorrow.  

Overall, Ader had an impressive outdoor season. She earned three medals during conference championships, became a conference champion in the heptathlon, earned a new school record in the long jump, and moved up to third all-time at Nevada in the heptathlon. 

That concludes the Wolf Pack's track season. The team will be back in 2022, while the cross country team is set to start their season on the first day of September.
