RENO, Nev. – The Nevada softball team (16-11, 10-4) split a double-header with Colorado State (9-14, 3-5) on Saturday afternoon at Hixson Park. Nevada defeated Colorado State, 5-3, in game one before falling in Saturday's finale, 12-0 (5 innings).
Sophomore Kendall Fritz picked up the win in game one, tossing seven innings and giving up three runs on six hits. In addition, Fritz struck out five Ram hitters. The Pack was paced offensively by Ashley Salausa and Sierra Mello, who both went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Sadaria McAlister also chipped in, going 2-for-4 and scoring one run. Danielle Lew, Sam Oliver, Haley Burda and Kenzi Goins registered a hit each.
Freshman Blake Craft took the game two loss. In two innings, Craft gave up five runs on five hits and struck out two Colorado State hitters. Sadaria McAlister and Lauren Gutierrez tallied the Pack's lone two hits.
