SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Despite a strong effort from senior
Hannah Souza, the Wolf Pack fell short to the San Diego State Aztecs in their season opener on Friday night.
The Aztecs opened up scoring late in the first half with under a minute left to play. The Aztecs' momentum continued into the second half as their lead expanded to 2-0.
Souza answered with a goal at the 62nd minute. The Pack's offense continued to dominate as Souza scored again at the 72nd minute, tying the game. A last-minute Aztec goal, at the 86th minute, secured the victory for San Diego State.

Gabby Brown each registered two shots on goal.

Maddie Marr,
Lauren Muff,
Lizzy Hairston, and
Mariah Jackson all played the full 90 minutes for the Pack.
Junior goalkeeper Stovall registered 7 saves in net.
