SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - Nevada women's tennis opened its two-match weekend in the Bay Area with a 7-0 win at Dominican university Friday.
The Pack (4-1) closes the trip Saturday at Academy of Art, with first serve set for 2 p.m.
Nevada's doubles tandems dropped just three games combined while sweeping all three matches to claim the point.
Carla Del Barrio and
Anastasia Luneva led the way with a 6-0 victory at the No. 1 spot, with
Selina Turulja and
Mathilde Sarcelet claiming a 6-1 victory at No. 3 and the team of
Cristina Moll Alles and
Milka Genkova going over, 6-2, at No. 2.
The Pack quickly ran its lead to 3-0 in singles play as Sarcelet, at No. 6, and Turulja, at No. 4, each rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win. Del Barrio clinched the match for Nevada at No. 5, picking up a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Antoinette Schreiber.
