RENO, Nev. – The Nevada women's soccer team (0-3 MW) dropped their home opener on Saturday afternoon, falling 3-2 to the Boise State Broncos (1-1-1 MW).
The Broncos struck first early in the first half, scoring a goal in the 14th minute. It wasn't until the 46th minute that the Pack got on the board after being awarded a penalty kick. Sophomore Gabby Brown snuck her shot past the Broncos' keeper to tie the game.
The Broncos' offense then answered again with a goal in the 72nd minute.
Six minutes later, Nevada freshman Olivia Fothergill scored her first collegiate goal tying the game 2-2. The freshman had two shots on goal throughout the match.
However, the Broncos' offense kept the momentum going and notched a goal in the 80th minute to secure the victory.
The Broncos outshot the Pack 20-7. Nevada goalkeeper Kendal Stovall recorded 6 saves in net.
The Wolf Pack will continue their homestand this weekend with a match on Friday, March 19 at 6:30 P.M. against the San Jose Spartans followed by a match on Sunday, March 21 at 1:30 P.M. against the Fresno State Bulldogs.
