Ader moves into second all-time at Championships at the Peak

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. – After competing in the Air Force Invitational in January, senior Nicola Ader competed once again at Air Force. This time she competed at the Championships at the Peak in the pentathlon and earned two new personal bests and moved up on the all-time list.

To start the day, Ader competed in the 60 meter hurdles where the senior finished with a time of 8.76. This time was good enough to earn Ader 961 points and put her at fourth overall in the pentathlon.

Ader then moved on to the high jump where she earned a height of 1.72m. This height tied for the second best in the pentathlon. The height also earned her 879 points and moved the senior to third.

Next up was the shot put which saw Ader finish the event with a distance of 11.00m. This distance earned the senior a new personal best in the indoor shot put. The result also put 595 more points on the board, which increased her total to 2,435 points.

The senior had an impressive long jump event which saw Ader earn a distance of 5.80. This distance only being 0.05m off of her personal best. Her mark in the event earned her 798 points and moved her up to second heading into the final event.

The last event also had the senior earn a new personal best. Her time of 2:28.42 in the 800m run  was not only a personal best, but earned her 713 points. This would bring Ader's point total to 3,937 points and she would end the day with a second place overall finish in the pentathlon. The point total was also good enough to move her to second all-time at Nevada.

Currently, Ader would rank 11th nationally in the pentathlon with the points she earned in the meet. If she stays in the top-16, she would qualify for the NCAA indoor championships that will be held from Mar. 11-13 in Fayetteville, Ark.

The Nevada track and field team will look to compete in their first outdoor competition this Saturday at the Sacrament State Tri-Meet.
