Women's Volleyball

Nevada to host matches against San José State and Fresno State

Reno, Nev - The Nevada volleyball team is set to host matches against the San José State Spartans and the Fresno State Bulldogs on Oct. 26 and Oct. 28. The matches will be the second time the Pack will face both teams this season.

Tickets for both matches can be purchased here. For fans that can't make it to the Virginia Street Gym, a live stream will be available through the Mountain West Network, and live stats are going to be available on the Nevada Wolf Pack website.

THE SPARTANS

The match against the Spartans is set for Oct. 26, with the first serve beginning at 6 p.m. The Pack lost the last match against the Spartans on Oct 12, 3-0. Tuesday's match will be a pink out for Breast Cancer Awareness month, where the first 50 fans will be getting a pink rally towel. 

THE BULLDOGS

The match against the Bulldogs is set for Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. The Pack put up a fight against the Bulldogs in the last match on Oct. 17 but lost the match, 3-0. On Thursday, the match will be themed Halloween/family night where candy and temporary Wolf Pack tattoos will be given away. We encourage all the fans to be dressed up as a costume parade will be held between sets. 

LEADING THE PACK

Sydney Petersen, Andrea Alcaraz, and Kaila Spevak continue to represent Nevada in the conference individual leaders rankings this season.

Petersen places herself back in fourth overall in hitting percentage. The junior has a hitting percentage of .366 with a total of 169 kills. She also leads the Pack in blocks with 67. Petersen has updated her career record of total blocks with 281 and block assists with 259 after the match against the New Mexico Lobos.

The junior Alcaraz continues in fifth place, recording 532 assists, averaging 7.60 per set. Alcaraz has also broken a milestone recording 1007 assists in her career as a member of the Pack.

Spevak leads the Pack defense and places herself fifth overall in the conference leaders ranking with 255 digs, averaging 3.64 per set. The senior is also leading the Pack in service aces, recording 24 so far this season.
