Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Ryan Daley

Wyoming Cowgirls score big against Nevada Soccer

LARAMIE, WYO. – After losing to the Colorado State Rams, the Nevada Wolf Pack's last road game would go down a similar path as they would lose to the Wyoming Cowgirls 6-1.

The Cowgirls had an explosive game, scoring six goals throughout the 90 minute game. Four of those goals came in the first half. Freshman Eliza-Grace Smith, senior Savannah Warner, and junior Sydney Miller all scored in the first 30 minutes of the half. Junior Brooklyn Blake would score a penalty goal with seven minute left, but the Cowgirls would answer back with a goal by sophomore Nikayla Copenhaver.

This wouldn't be the end of the Cowgirls offense, as they would score two more goals in the second half. Junior Hannah Hagen and freshman Olivia Stutzman would both be the goal scorers in the half. The goals would be assisted by junior Jamie Tatum.

The Pack would finish the game with eight shots compared to the Cowgirls 19. Junior Lizzy Hairston would lead the team with two shots. Senior Kendal Stovall finished the match with five saves. The goal by Blake would be her first of her career with the Pack.

This game concludes the conference road stretch. The last three games for the Pack will all be home games. The Pack will compete against the Fresno State Bulldogs on Friday and the San Jose Spartans next Sunday.
