Sophomore guard
Grant Sherfield scored a game-high 22 points to go with five rebounds and five assists, while redshirt sophomore guard
Desmond Cambridge, Jr., was also in double figures with 16 points, going 4-for-6 from deep.
The Pack defense locked in after an 8-for-8 start by the Aztecs, limiting San Diego State to just 12 field goals over the final 33 minutes, while, for the game, Nevada made more field goals (21 to 20) and committed less turnovers (nine to 10) than the Aztecs.
SCOUTING THE AZTECS

Matt Mitchell (20 points, 10 rebounds, 9-for-10 FT) led the Aztecs in the win, while Nathan Mensah (16 points, seven rebounds, 8-for-10 FT) and Trey Pulliam (10 points) also scored in double figures.
SHERFIELD IN THE ZONE
Sophomore point guard
Grant Sherfield has been a boon to the Pack's fortunes this season, leading the team with 17.6 points per game and 64 assists.
Sherfield, who was granted immediate eligibility in September after transferring from Wichita State, has scored in double figures in 11 of the pack's 12 games, with five 20-point performances.
He's currently on a three-game streak of scoring 20 points after finishing with a game-high 22 in Thursday's opener at San Diego State. The current run is highlighted by a career-best 28-point performance in Jan. 2's 84-74 win over New Mexico.
BREAK THE VIEJAS SLIDE
Saturday's finale will also mark Nevada's last chance this season to pick up a win over San Diego State in Viejas Arena, where the Pack has now lost 10-straight after Thursday's setback.
