After a contentious week of fan votes, the best of our 16 favorite moments from the 2019-20 season has risen to the top, and junior Nicola Ader from the track & field squad has taken home the title.
Ader got by a formidable opponent in the championship round, defeating Brandon Talton's game-winner against Purdue, a feat that earned him a post-game scholarship in the locker room. Ader took gold in the open high jump at this year's Mountain West Indoor Track & Field Championships and qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships. It marked her third-straight gold medal in the high jump and would have been her third-straight trip to the national meet if it hadn't been canceled.
The 16-team field represented almost every sport on campus, from two strong football moments, two men's basketball streaks, two upsets from women's basketball, collegiate firsts in the golfs and a nearly-perfect home weekend for women's tennis. Fans were able to vote on each matchup every day in our week countdown to the top moment of the 2019-20 season.
Volleyball's season sweep of the Boise State Broncos was the biggest upset of the bracket, and the only seed lower than two to make it to the Elite 8. It was the first time the Wolf Pack had swept the Broncos in a season since 2008. All four No. 1 seeds advanced to the Final Four, representing three different Wolf Pack sports.
Thank you to everyone who voted and made it such a fun week!
