IRVINE, Calif. – The University of Nevada (4-2) women's tennis blanked UC Irvine (1-2) 4-0 on Friday afternoon at the Anteater Tennis Stadium.  It is the first match of three in southern California this weekend.  The win was the second in a row for the Wolf Pack as they improved to 4-2 on the season while the Anteaters fell to 1-2.  Saturday Nevada plays at Cal State Fullerton at 11 a.m.

Nevada won all three doubles matches to secure the first point of the day.  Roos van Reek and Arina Gumerova clinched the point with a 6-2 victory on court 2.  Selina Turulja and Ksenia Shikanova started the match with a 6-1 victory at No. 3 doubles.  Anastaysha Gorbacheva and Anastasia Luneva also won their match on court 1 6-3.

Gumerova put the Pack up 2-0 with a 6-3, 6-4 victory on court 5 over Alyssa Fossorier.  It was 3-0 after Skikanova's hard fought three-set victory 7-5, 4-6 and 6-2 at No. 2 singles over UCI's Flora Amiri.  Luneva, one of five freshmen on the team, dropped the first set on court 1 6-2 but rallied taking the last two sets 6-4, 6-2 to give the Wolf Pack the 4-0 victory.
