SALT LAKE CITY  – The University of Nevada (5-2) men's tennis team dropped a close 4-3 match to Montana (1-1) in Salt Lake City on Sunday.  With the loss the Wolf Pack is 5-2 and the Grizzlies improved to 1-1.

Nevada is off this week before returning to action at Saint Mary's on Feb. 15 and concludes the weekend at Sacramento State on Feb. 16.

With the match tied at 3-3 the deciding point would be won on court 5 by Montana.  It would take three sets before Milo Been would defeat the Pack's Gvidas Motuzas 6-4, 3-6 and 6-4 to clinch the match for the Grizzlies.

UM secured the doubles point with victories at No. 2 and 3 doubles.  Ed Pudney and Cameron Isbell defeated Daniel Dudockin and Gvidas Motuzas 6-1 on court 2 to claim the first match of the day. On court 1 Nevada's Isaac Nortey and Julien Evrard knocked off Max Korkh and Ludvig 6-2 to even the doubles competition.  Oisin Shaffrey and Pontus Hallgren won the tiebreaker 7-5 over the Pack duo of Delmas N'tcha and Benjamin Campi at No. 3 doubles to earn the first point of the day.

Evrard tied the score at 1-1 with his straight sets 6-3, 6-4 win over Korkh on court 1.  Hallgren put the Grizzlies back in front 2-1 with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles over Nortey.  The Pack battled back and evened the score once again as Campi scored a 6-2, 7-5 win on court 6.

Montana regained the lead with a 6-1, 6-4 win by Pudney over Dudockin at No. 3 singles.  N'Tcha tied the match with his 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) win on court 4. It would not be enough as the Grizzlies ended the match with the three-set win on court 5.
