Nevada returns to Lawlor Tuesday to host Air Force at 8 p.m.

AIR FORCE AT NEVADA – TUESDAY, FEB. 4 – 8 P.M. – ESPN2
 
RENO, Nev. – Nevada (13-10, 6-5 MW) returns to Lawlor Events Center on Tuesday to host Air Force (9-13, 3-7 MW) on Tuesday at 8 p.m.  The game will air on ESPN2.

A reminder season tickets have the game as Wednesday, Feb. 5 but the date was shifted to Tuesday Feb. 4 after tickets were printed and sent to season ticket holders

The Wolf Pack won the first meeting 100-85 in the first game of the Mountain West schedule for the Pack.  Jalen Harris scored game-high 31 points in the victory.  

The Falcons enter the game having dropped their last four games while Nevada has lost its last two contests.

Lavelle Scottie leads Air Force in scoring at 15.1 points per game and in rebounding at 5.4 per contest.  Ryan Swan is second on the squad scoring 13.5 points per game and is second in rebounding at 4.6 per outing.  A.J. Walker is the third Falcon player scoring in double figures contributing 12 points per game.

The Pack are led by Jalen Harris who scores a MW high 20 points per contest and his 24 points per game in conference play is also first.  Harris has scored 30 or more points in the last two games and four times on the season.  The last Nevada player with four games of 30 or more points was Nick Fazekas in the 2005-06 season.

Senior Jazz Johnson missed the game at Boise State as his shoulder was bothering him.  He will see the doctors in Reno to determine his status for the game with Air Force.  Johnson is second on the team scoring 16.3 points per game.  He tops the MW in in 3-pointers made per game (3.2), 3-point percentage (42.3%) and 3-pointers made (71).  He also ranks nationally in all three categories.

Lindsey Drew tops the team with his 4.3 assists per game to rank fourth in the conference.  Drew is third on the team scoring 11.6 points per game. 

Senior Nisré Zouzoua scored a Pack career-best 20 points in the win over New Mexico.   Zouzoua made 6-of-7 3-pointers in the victory and it was the first time he led the team in scoring.   At CSU he was 5-for-5 from behind the arc.  He earned the start for Johnson at BSU.  On the season he is averaging 9.4 points per game off the bench.

Nevada leads the series 12-2 and has won the last eight meetings.  Head coach Steve Alford is 16-1 versus the Falcons

The game will be air on the ESPN2.  Eric Rothman will call the action with Richie Schueler  providing the color commentary.

NEVADA TIES SCHOOL RECORD WITH 17 3S VERSUS NEW MEXICO
    Nevada tied the school record making 17 3-pointers on 35 attempts in the 96-74 win over New Mexico, on Jan. 25.  The Wolf Pack also made 17 3s at Pacific on Nov. 18, 2017 on 34 attempts.
    In the seven of the last nine contests Nevada has made 10 or more 3-pointers. On the season 15 times the Wolf Pack has made 10 or more 3s in a game.
    Nationally the Pack is seventh with 232 made 3s and 12th making 38.7 percent of its 3-pointers.  Nevada's 599 attempted 3s ranks 32nd and 10.1 made per game is 11th.  The Pack is also doing it defensively ranking 12th in field goal percentage defense in NCAA Iat 28.7 percent.
    In the MW Nevada leads in 3-pointers per game, 3-point percentage and 3s made.

ALFORD WINS 600TH GAME AS PACK DOWNS NEW MEXICO 96-74
    First-year Nevada head coach Steve Alford won his 600th career game when the Wolf Pack defeated New Mexico 96-74 on Jan. 25. Alford coached at UNM for six seasons and won 155 games during his time with the Lobos.  Alford is 600-308 in his 29th season.  
    Alford is the 16th active NCAA I head coach with 600 career wins.  He earned 78 victories at Manchester, 78 at Missouri State, 152 during his time at Iowa, 155 coaching at New Mexico and 124 at UCLA.   
    Alford's father Sam coached 29 seasons of high school basketball posting a record of 452-288.  The two have combined for 1,052 victories.  Steve played for his father at New Castle Chrysler High School in Indiana.  He played for legendary coach Bob Knight at Indiana and helped the Hoosiers to the 1987 NCAA Championship.  Knight posted a record of 902-371 in 42 seasons.

DREW MAKING MARK IN NEVADA RECORD BOOK
    Senior Lindsey Drew has played 122 games at Nevada and started 116.  The 116 starts is tied for fourth with Kevin Soares (1989-92).  Nick Fazekas (2004-07) is next on the list with 119 starts.  He has played in 87 wins during his time which is tied with former teammate Jordan Caroline (2016-19) for fifth.  His 3,701 minutes played is fifth at Nevada.
    Drew's 153 steals is seventh in Wolf Pack history with Curtis High (1983-85) sixth with 154 and Matt Williams (1981-91) fifth with 162.  His 482 assists is third.  In the home win over Colorado State he scored his 800th point and now has 895.    

PACK PLAYERS RANKED AMONG NCAA I ACTIVE CAREER LEADERS
    Jazz Johnson, Lindsey Drew, Jalen Harris and Nisré Zouzoua are all ranked among the NCAA I career leaders.
    Johnson's 1,460 points is 58th, 42.2 percent 3-point shooting is 23rd, 120 games played is 94th, and 236 made 3s is 25th.  Drew ranks 91st with 598 rebounds, 24th with 482 assists, 41st with 153 steals, ranks 13th with a 2.2 assists turnover ratio and is 63rd with 122  games played.
    Harris is 44th shooting 84.7 percent at the free throw line and is 63rd scoring 14 points per contest.  Zouzoua's 190 made 3-pointers is 97th.

JOHNSON AND ZOUZOUA 1,000 POINT SCORERS
    Jazz Johnson scored his 1400th point and Nisré Zouzoua his 1200th in the win over Wyoming.  Johnson has 1,460 points in 120 games for a career averaged of 12.2 points per game.  He scored 740 of the points at Portland.
    Zouzua has netted 1,263 points in 106 games giving him a career average of 11.9 points per game. At Bryant he scored 1,025 of those points.

NEVADA IN THE NET
    Nevada has a NET ranking of 93 which is the tool that the NCAA uses to rank teams for post season play. The NCAA Evaluation Tool, which will be known as the NET, relies on game results, strength of schedule, game location, scoring margin, net offensive and defensive efficiency, and the quality of wins and losses.
    The Wolf Pack's overall strength of schedule is 45th and non-conference strength of schedule is 40th.  The Pack's basketball power index is 92 and kenpom.com ranking is 87.

HARRIS LEADING THE PACK
    Junior Jalen Harris has scored in double figures in the last 19 games which includes four games of 30 or more points on the road at Air Force (31), Utah State (31), Colorado State (31) and at Boise State (30).  The 31 points is his career high.  He is the only player in the MW to have four games of 30 or more points this season.  The last Nevada player with four games of 30 or more points in a season was Nick Fazekas during the 2005-06 season.  In six of the last six games Harris has scored a game high and 11 times on the season.
    Harris' layup with just under 9 seconds to play against Wyoming gave the Pack the 68-67 victory. At CSU his 3-pointer with 5.3 seconds to play put the Pack up 91-90 before the Rams won on a last second shot.
    Harris tops the team in scoring (20 ppg) and is second in rebounding (6.1 rpg) and assists (4.1 apg).  The 20 points per game leads the Mountain West and 24 in MW play is also first.  The assist numbers rank fifth in the MW and the rebounds ninth.
    In 11 of the last 18 games he has scored 20 or more points including the four 30-point games.  In the win over Santa Clara he posted his first career double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.  His game-high eight assists left him two shy of a triple double.
    In 11 games he posted game highs in points, nine times he posted a game-high in assists and four times a game-high in rebounds.
    From the field he is shooting 44.1 percent, 25.7 percent from behind the arc and 83.3 percent at the free throw line to rank fourth  in the conference.
    Harris injured his foot in the season opener with Utah playing just 8 minutes and missed the LMU game.  He returned to the lineup against UT Arlington and scored a game-high 24 points in the victory.

JOHNSON MISSES BOISE STATE GAME 
    Wolf Pack senior Jazz Johnson missed the Boise State game and will have the doctors look at his shoulder to determine his status for the Air Force game.  Johnson ranks second on the team and is seventh in the MW scoring 16.3 points per game.  Johnson's 19 games scoring in double figures is second on the team.  He scored a career-high 34 points in the Pack's home win over Boise State.  Johnson made a career-best eight 3-pointers on 12 attempts.  The 34 points, eight made 3s and 13 made field goals all rank second in the MW this season.  
    The eight made 3s is tied for the third most in a game at Nevada.  He also tied for game honors with a career-high seven rebounds.
    Johnson scored his 1,400th career point in the Wyoming win with 740 coming at Portland.  Currently in 120 games he has scored 1,460 points.
        He has made a 3-pointer in each game this season and three or more in 15 contests.
    Johnson has been knocking down the 3-pointers at a high rate this season having made 71-of-168.  The 71 made 3s is 14th nationally, 3.2 per game is 13th, and 42.3 3-point percentage is 24th.  He tops the MW in all three categories.
    Five times he has scored 20 or more points; 20 vs. LMU, 26 vs. USC, 25 vs. BGSU, 20 vs. SCU and the 34 vs. BSU.  In the USC, BGSU, SCU and BSU games the point totals were game highs.
    He is shooting 81.4 percent at the free throw line.
    At the Paradise Jam he made 60 percent of his 3-pointers connecting on 15-of-25 in three games.  In the title game he made 7-of-10.  

DREW DOING IT ALL IN FINAL SEASON AT NEVADA
    The versatile Lindsey Drew is doing it once again in his fifth and final season at Nevada.  Drew missed all last year after rupturing his right achilles tendon at Boise State on 
Feb. 14, 2018.  
    The do everything guard returned with a flair scoring a career-high 30 points in his senior debut against Utah.  He also grabbed six rebounds and dished out eight assists.  In the next game he scored 24 points, had nine rebounds and five assists in a win over Loyola Marymount.  Both point totals were game highs.
    In 14 games he has scored in double figures which is the most double figure scoring games for him in a season, passing the 10 he had his junior year before the injury.  He leads the team in assists (4.3 apg) and rebounding (6.4 rpg).  From the field he is shooting 39.1 percent.  In total he is ranked in seven categories in the conference.
    Twice he has posted double-doubles with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the Paradise Jam Championship game win over Bowling Green.  Against TSU he scored 18 points and had 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season and fourth of his career.
    In seven games he posted highs in assists; vs. Utah (8), LMU (7), UTA (4), at Air Force (6), vs. CSU (6), vs. BSU (9) and at SJSU (5).  The nine assists in the BSU game tied his career high and is the high for a Nevada player this season.  In another five games he posted game highs in rebounds; LMU (9), vs. Bowling Green (10), at Air Force (8), TSU (10) and at BSU (10).

ZOUZOUA ON FIRE FROM THREE
    Senior Nisré Zouzoua has provided a spark off the bench this season and in the New Mexico win led the Pack in scoring for the first time with 20 points.  Zouzoua knocked down 6-of-7 shots from behind the arc vs. UNM.  The 20 points and six made 3s are both highs for him during his time at Nevada. At Colorado State he was a perfect 5-of-5 from behind the arc making 11-of-12 in the  two-game stretch.  
    At BSU he started for Johnson but struggled scoring five points and made 1-of-7 from behind the arc.
    Zouzoua is fourth on the team averaging 9.2 points per game.
    In four of the last six games he has scored in double figures which included a three-game stretch that ended at BSU.  In 11 games this season he has scored in double figures.
    He scored nine points in each of the first two games of the season which were then Nevada career highs.  Against UT Arlington he nearly doubled that netting 16 points, making 6-of-8 shots from the field of which 3-of-5 were from behind the arc.
    At the Paradise Jam he averaged 11 points per game. He scored 11 points in the win over Fordham and 15 in the victory against Valparaiso.

NEVADA TIED FOR FIFTH IN MW STANDINGS
    Nevada is tied with Utah State for fifth place in the MW standings at 6-5.  
    San Diego State leads the conference with a perfect 12-0 record followed by Colorado State and Boise State at 7-4.  UNLV is alone in fourth at 6-4.  
    New Mexico is seventh at 5-6.  Fresno State, Air Force, San José State and Wyoming are in spots 8-11.

HARRIS SCORES 30 POINTS IN LOSS AT BOISE STATE


BOISE, Idaho - The University of Nevada fell to 13-10 on the season and 6-5 in the Mountain West after a 73-64 loss at Boise State (15-8, 7-4 MW) at Extramile Arena on Saturday night.  Nevada returns home to host Air Force (9-13, 3-7 MW) on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. at Lawlor Events Center.

BSU scored the first eight points of the game and led by 22-points, 36-14 with 2:17 to play in the first period.  The Wolf Pack closed the half with a 7-0 run to get with 15-points at the break, 36-21.  The Pack continued its run in the second half outscoring BSU 24-12 to cut the Broncos advantage to three points, 48-45 with 10:57 to play in the game.

The Broncos pushed the lead to double figures once again but Nevada would not go away cutting it to four points 62-58 with 4:37 to play.  The Pack would get now closer as BSU held on for the 73-64 victory.

Jalen Harris scored a game-high 30 points for Nevada. It was his second consecutive game of 30 points after his 31 at Colorado State on Wednesday. He has four games of 30 or more points this season, all coming on the road in Mountain West play and the Pack is 1-3 in those contests.  The last Nevada player to score 30 or more points in four games in a season was Nick Fazekas during the 2005-06 season.

Senior Lindsey Drew grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds marking his third double figure rebounding game of the season.  Tonight's game was the first where just one Nevada player scored in double figures.
