RENO, Nev. – After a sluggish first half, the Nevada men's basketball team roared to life in the second half to take down Pacific in the home opener at Lawlor Events Center on Monday night.
Zane Meeks poured in 18 points and ripped 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the season, and
Grant Sherfield continued his hot start to the season with 17 points.

The Wolf Pack returns to action on Wednesday night when the USF Dons come to Lawlor Events Center for a 6 p.m. tip-off at Lawlor. The game will be broadcast again on the Mountain West Network. John Ramey and Len Stevens will have the call on the Wolf Pack Radio Network (Flagship 94.5 FM in Northern Nevada).
Nevada (3-0) raced out to an early 8-0 lead in the game but the Pack's offense slowed a bit through the first half and Nevada went in to halftime with a narrow 37-35 lead.
The game features three ties and 10 lead changes.
In the second half, Pacific moved in front, using a 7-0 run to take 46-41 lead with about 13 minutes to play. But Meeks buried a three-pointer and
Alem Huseinovic hit another a minute later to give the Pack the lead back for good at 47-46.
The two three-balls spurred a 16-2 Nevada run over the next five minutes, capped by two more threes from Meeks, who was 4-of-7 from behind the arc in the game.
The game was delayed 30 minutes due to a miscommunication over the tip-off time.
