Balanced attack and defense propels Pack to season-opening win.

Nevada takes down North Dakota State in opener.

Box Score LINCOLN, Neb. -- A staunch defensive effort and balanced scoring propelled the Nevada men's basketball team to a season-opening 62-48 victory over North Dakota State on Wednesday at the Golden Window Classic, hosted by Nebraska.

Thursday's game against Nebraska will tip-off at 11 a.m. PT and will be aired on the Big Ten Network. John Ramey will have the radio call on the Wolf Pack Radio Network, with the broadcast beginning on the flagship 94.5 FM at 10:30 a.m. in Northern Nevada. The broadcast is also available via the TuneIn mobile app.

The Wolf Pack defense led the way, holding the Bison to just 29 percent shooting for the game. The 48 points allowed are the fewest yielded by the Pack against a D-I school since 2012.

Sophomore guard Grant Sherfield led the way for the Wolf Pack, scoring 14 points in his first game at Nevada after transferring from Wichita State. Freshman Tré Coleman shined in his collegiate debut, scoring 13 points on 5-of-5 shooting, including three field goals.

K.J. Hymes scored 11 and Robby Robinson pulled down 11 rebounds for the Pack.

Nevada never trailed in the game, but the Bison pulled within four, 47-43, with around six minutes to play. But Sherfield buried a three-pointer to spur at 15-5 run to close the game.
