Nevada Sports Net to air Nevada-Hawai`i broadcast

NSN reaches deal to bring broadcast to Northern Nevada

The Nevada football team's game at Hawaii scheduled for Nov. 28 will air locally on Nevada Sports Net.

The Hawaii-based Spectrum Sports PPV feed has been picked up by NSN and will feature Robert Kekaula on play-by-play and Rich Miano as analyst. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. Hawaiian time and 8 p.m. Pacific time.

The Nevada-Hawaii game was the lone matchup on the Wolf Pack's eight-game schedule not to be selected by the conference's national television partners, CBS Sports Network or Fox Sports, and fell to Hawaii's local broadcast station, which NSN has partnered with to provide the feed to Northern Nevada fans. Locally, the game will only be available over NSN's linear channel with no digital platform offerings.

"Our goal since starting Nevada Sports Net has been to deliver the best coverage of local and national sports to our viewers, including marquee live events," said Amie Chapman, Vice President and General Manager of News 4, Fox 11 and Nevada Sports Net. "Our ability to broadcast Nevada's game at Hawaii illustrates our dedication to doing just that. We are delighted Wolf Pack fans will be able to watch their team play a crucial game in a potentially special season on Nevada Sports Net."

NSN also will produce a 30-minute pre-game show that will run before the 8 p.m. Pacific time kickoff. The show will be hosted by NSN sports director Bryan Samudio and include commentary from Alex Margulies and Chris Murray.

"Nevada Sports Net is thrilled to be able to bring live Wolf Pack football to fans across Northern Nevada," Samudio said. "The Wolf Pack is poised to make 2020 a special season with a chance to bring home a Mountain West championship, and NSN is honored to bring live sports into the homes of our viewers."

The Wolf Pack is 3-0 and off to its best start since the historic 2010 team went 13-1 and finished 11th in the nation. Nevada has earned votes in the AP Top 25 and Coaches Poll for the first time since 2014. Hawaii is 2-1 this season.

Nevada has won seven of its last nine game against Hawaii, although it took a 54-3 loss to the Rainbow Warriors at Mackay Stadium last year. The Wolf Pack is 3-1 in its last four visits to the islands. Nevada is 14-10 all-time in this series, which dates to Christmas Day in 1920 when the Wolf Pack was Hawaii's first intercollegiate opponent.

In Northern Nevada, NSN is available over the air on channel 21; Charter channel 787 in HD or 7 in SD; DirecTV and Dish Network on channel 21; or on AT&T U-verse channel 1021 in HD or 21 in SD. The game can be seen from the following counties: Washoe, Carson, Humboldt, Churchill, Pershing, Douglas, Lyon, Mineral, Lassen, Lander and Eureka.
