Jazz Johnson has been named the Wolf Pack Student-Athlete of the week after helping Nevada two a pair of Mountain West victories at Lawlor Events Center. With the two wins Nevada improved to 10-5 overall and 3-0 in the MW. The Wolf Pack has won its last 14 MW home games.
In the Pack's 83-66 win over Boise State on Saturday Johnson scored a career-high 34 points which is the high for any player in the MW this season. He knocked down a career-high eight 3-pointers on 12 attempts. The eight made 3s is tied for the third most in school history and is the second most in the MW this season. Johnson also grabbed a career-high seven rebounds to tie for game honors in 38 minutes of action.
On Wednesday he scored nine points in Nevada's 67-61 victory over Colorado State.
In the two games he averaged 21.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in 36.5 minutes per game. From the field he shot 45.9 (17-of-37) percent and 50 (9-of-18) percent from behind the arc.
Nevada returns to action on Wednesday at San José State for a 7 p.m. tip and concludes the week at Utah State on Saturday with a 5 p.m. PT tip on CBS SportsNetwork. The Pack's next home game is Tuesday, Jan. 14 when Wyoming comes to Lawlor for a 7 p.m. contest.
