Nevada closes out two-game road trip at Boise State Saturday at 7 p.m.

NEVADA AT BOISE STATE – SATURDAY, FEB. 1 – 7 P.M. PT– ESPNU
 
RENO, Nev. – Nevada (13-9, 6-4 MW) concludes its two-game Mountain West road swing at Boise State (15-8, 6-4 MW) on Saturday at 7 p.m. PT.  The game will air on ESPNU.

BSU has won its last three games and are 10-1 at home this season.  The Wolf Pack won the first meeting at Lawlor Events Center 83-66 on Jan. 4 behind Jazz Johnson's career-high 34 points.

Derrick Alston leads the MW scoring 19.6 points per game, slightly ahead of Nevada Jalen Harris and his 19.5 points per contest. Justinian Jessup (15.3 ppg),  Abu Kigab (13.7 ppg) and RJ Williams (12.1 ppg) are also scoring in double figures.  Williams tops the Broncos grabbing 8.2 rebounds and Alston is second at 5.3 per contest.


The Pack are led by Jalen Harris who is second in the MW scoring 19.5 points per game after his 31 points at Colorado State on Wednesday.  Harris is scoring 23.4 points per game in MW play to lead the conference.  The Dallas product is second on the team averaging 6.1 rebounds and out 4.2 assists per game.  He was named the Jan. 27 MW Player of the Week, earning the honor for the second time this year.

Senior Jazz Johnson is second on the team and tied for sixth in the MW scoring 16.3 points per game.  Johnson leads the MW in 3-pointers made per game (3.2), 3-point percentage (42.3%) and 3-pointers made (71).  He also ranks nationally in all three categories.

Lindsey Drew tops the team with his 4.4 assists per game to rank third in the conference.  Drew is third on the team scoring 11.8 points per game.  In 14 games he has scored in double figures which is his career high for any season at Nevada.

Senior Nisré Zouzoua scored a Pack career-best 20 points in the win over New Mexico on Saturday.  Zouzoua made 6-of-7 3-pointers in the victory and it was the first time he led the team in scoring. At Colorado State he was 5-of-5 from behind the arc making him 11-of-12 in the last two games.  On the season he is averaging 9/.4 points per game off the bench.

Nevada leads the series 48-27 and has won the last eight meetings.  Head coach Steve Alford is 5-0 versus the Broncos

NEVADA TIES SCHOOL RECORD WITH 17 3S VERSUS NEW MEXICO
    Nevada tied the school record making 17 3-pointers on 35 attempts in the 96-74 win over New Mexico, on Jan. 25.  The Wolf Pack also made 17 3s at Pacific on Nov. 18, 2017 on 34 attempts.
    In the last four games and in seven of the last eight contests Nevada has made 10 or more 3-pointers. On the season 15 times the Wolf Pack has made 10 or more 3s in a game.
    Nationally the Pack is fifth with 225 made 3s and ninth making 39.3 percent of its 3-pointers.  Nevada's 572 attempted 3s ranks third and 10.2 made per game is 11th.  The Pack is also doing it defensively ranking 15th in field goal percentage defense in NCAA I.
    In the MW Nevada leads in 3-pointers per game, 3-point percentage and 3s made.

ALFORD WINS 600TH GAME AS PACK DOWNS NEW MEXICO 96-74
    First-year Nevada head coach Steve Alford won his 600th career game when the Wolf Pack defeated New Mexico 96-74 on Jan. 25. Alford coached at UNM for six seasons and won 155 games during his time with the Lobos.  Alford is 600-307 in his 29th season.  
    Alford is the 16th active NCAA I head coach with 600 career wins.  He earned 78 victories at Manchester, 78 at Missouri State, 152 during his time at Iowa, 155 coaching at New Mexico and 124 at UCLA.   
    Alford's father Sam coached 29 seasons of high school basketball posting a record of 452-288.  The two have combined for 1,052 victories.  Steve played for his father at New Castle Chrysler High School in Indiana.  He played for legendary coach Bob Knight at Indiana and helped the Hoosiers to the 1987 NCAA Championship.  Knight posted a record of 902-371 in 42 seasons.

DREW MAKING MARK IN NEVADA RECORD BOOK
    Senior Lindsey Drew has played 121 games at Nevada and started 115.  The 115 starts is fifth at Nevada with Kevin Soares (1989-92) fourth with 116.  He has played in 87 wins during his time which is tied with former teammate Jordan Caroline (2016-19) for fifth.  His 3,665 minutes played is tied with Dario Hunt (2009-12) for sixth.
    Drew's 152 steals is seventh in Wolf Pack history and 480 assists is third.  In the home win over Colorado State he scored his 800th point and now has 886.    

HARRIS JAN. 27 MW PLAYER OF THE WEEK, EARNS SECOND MW WEEKLY HONOR
    Junior Jalen Harris has been named the Mountain West Player of the Week after helping the Wolf Pack to a pair of home wins that moved the team into a tie for second place in the conference standings.  Harris averaged 23.5 points, five rebounds and 6.5 assists in the two home victories.  It is the second time this season Harris has earned the award.
    In Nevada's 86-72 win over intrastate rival UNLV he scored a game-high 28 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out six assists without committing a turnover.  Harris made 8-of-17 field goals and 9-of-11 free throws in the double figure victory.
    Against New Mexico he scored 19 points, had five rebounds and a game-high seven assists without a turnover in the 96-74 victory.  From the field he made 7-of-17 field goals and was good on 4-of-6 free throws.

HARRIS LEADING THE PACK
    Junior Jalen Harris has scored in double figures in the last 18 games which includes three games of 31 points on the road at Air Force, Utah State and Colorado State.  The 31 points is his career high.  He is the only player in the MW to have three games of 30 or more points this season.  The last Nevada player with three games of 30 or more points in a season was Marqueze Coleman during the 2015-16 season.  In five of the last six games Harris has scored a game high.
    Harris' layup with just under 9 seconds to play against Wyoming gave the Pack the 68-67 victory. At CSU his 3-pointer with 5.3 seconds to play put the Pack up 91-90 before the Rams won on a last second shot.
    Harris tops the team in scoring (19.5 ppg) and is second in rebounding (6.1 rpg) and assists (4.2 apg).  The 19.5 points is second in the Mountain West and 23.4 in MW play is first.  The assist numbers rank fifth in the MW and the rebounds ninth.
    Ten times in the last 17 games he has scored 20 or more points including the three 31-point games.  In the win over Santa Clara he posted his first career double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.  His game-high eight assists left him two shy of a triple double.
    In 10 games he posted game highs in points, nine times he posted a game-high in assists and four times a game-high in rebounds.
    From the field he is shooting 43.6 percent, 36.1 percent from behind the arc and 83.7 percent at the free throw line to rank third  in the conference.
    Harris injured his foot in the season opener with Utah playing just 8 minutes and missed the LMU game.  He returned to the lineup against UT Arlington and scored a game-high 24 points in the victory.

JOHNSON LEADING MW AND NATIONALLY RANKED IN 3-POINT SHOOTING
    Wolf Pack senior Jazz Johnson ranks second on the team and is seventh in the MW scoring 16.3 points per game.  Johnson's 19 games scoring in double figures is tied with Jalen Harris fortops on the team.  He scored a career-high 34 points in the Pack's win over Boise State.  Johnson made a career-best eight 3-pointers on 12 attempts.  The 34 points, eight made 3s and 13 made field goals all rank second in the MW this season.  
    The eight made 3s is tied for the third most in a game at Nevada.  He also tied for game honors with a career-high seven rebounds.
    Johnson scored his 1,400th career point in the Wyoming win with 740 coming at Portland.  Currently in 120 games he has scored 1,460 points.
        He has made a 3-pointer in each game this season and three or more in 15 contests.
    Johnson has been knocking down the 3-pointers at a high rate this season having made 71-of-168.  The 71 made 3s is 10th nationally, 3.2 per game is 15th, and 42.3 3-point percentage is 22nd.  He tops the MW in all three categories.
    Five times he has scored 20 or more points; 20 vs. LMU, 26 vs. USC, 25 vs. BGSU, 20 vs. SCU and the 34 vs. BSU.  In the USC, BGSU, SCU and BSU games the point totals were game highs.
    He is shooting 81.4 percent at the free throw line.
    At the Paradise Jam he made 60 percent of his 3-pointers connecting on 15-of-25 in three games.  In the title game he made 7-of-10.  

DREW DOING IT ALL IN FINAL SEASON AT NEVADA
    The versatile Lindsey Drew is doing it once again in his fifth and final season at Nevada.  Drew missed all last year after rupturing his right achilles tendon at Boise State on 
Feb. 14, 2018.  
    The do everything guard returned with a flair scoring a career-high 30 points in his senior debut against Utah.  He also grabbed six rebounds and dished out eight assists.  In the next game he scored 24 points, had nine rebounds and five assists in a win over Loyola Marymount.  Both point totals were game highs.
    In 14 games he has scored in double figures which is the most double figure scoring games for him in a season, passing the 10 he had his junior year before the injury.  He leads the team in assists (4.4 apg) and rebounding (6.3 rpg).  From the field he is shooting 48.3 percent.  In total he is ranked in seven categories in the conference.
    Twice he has posted double-doubles with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the Paradise Jam Championship game win over Bowling Green.  Against TSU he scored 18 points and had 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season and fourth of his career.
    In seven games he posted highs in assists; vs. Utah (8), LMU (7), UTA (4), at Air Force (6), vs. CSU (6), vs. BSU (9) and at SJSU (5).  The nine assists in the BSU game tied his career high and is the high for a Nevada player this season.  In another four games he posted game highs in rebounds; LMU (9), vs. Bowling Green (10), at Air Force (8) and TSU (10).

ZOUZOUA ON FIRE FROM THREE
    Senior Nisré Zouzoua has provided a spark off the bench this season and in the New Mexico win led the Pack in scoring for the first time with 20 points.  Zouzoua knocked down 6-of-7 shots from behind the arc vs. UNM.  The 20 points and six made 3s are both highs for him during his time at Nevada. At Colorado State he was a perfect 5-of-5 from behind the arc making 11-of-12 in the last two games.
    Zouzoua is fourth on the team averaging 9.4 points per game.
    In the last three games he has scored in double figures and in four of the last five games he netted double figures.  In 11 games this season he has scored in double figures.
    He scored nine points in each of the first two games of the season which were then Nevada career highs.  Against UT Arlington he nearly doubled that netting 16 points, making 6-of-8 shots from the field of which 3-of-5 were from behind the arc.
    At the Paradise Jam he averaged 11 points per game. He scored 11 points in the win over Fordham and 15 in the victory against Valparaiso.

NEVADA TIED FOR THIRD IN MW STANDINGS
    Nevada is locked in a four-way tie for third in the Mountain West standings at 6-4 with Boise State, Colorado State, and Utah State. The Wolf Pack plays at BSU on Saturday.
    San Diego State leads the conference with a perfect 11-0 record followed by UNLV at 6-3.
    New Mexico is seventh at 5-5.  Air Force, Fresno State and San José State are tied for third at 3-7.  Wyoming is 0-10.

HARRIS SCORES GAME-HIGH 31 POINTS IN 92-91 LOSS AT COLORADO STATE


FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) Adam Thistlewood had a career-high 24 points and Isaiah Stevens hit an 18-footer at the buzzer to lift Colorado State to a 92-91 victory over Nevada on Wednesday night.

Nevada's Jalen Harris made a 3-pointer to give the Wolf Pack a 91-90 lead with six seconds to go. After CSU called timeout, the Rams inbounded to Stevens who took the ball up the right side, dribbled behind his back as he stepped inside the 3-point line, then pulled up to drain the 18-footer.

Colorado State won despite trailing by 10 points with about eight minutes remaining, then taking a four-point lead in the final minute before falling behind again. The Rams led 89-85 after David Roddy hit two free throws with 23 seconds remaining. Nisre Zouzoua hit a 3-pointer to draw Nevada within one, then Stevens made one of two free throws to put CSU up 90-88. Harris and Stevens then traded clutch hoops, Stevens with the game-winner.

David Roddy had 18 points for Colorado State (15-8, 6-4 Mountain West Conference), which has won five in a row at home. Nico Carvacho added 16 points and 15 rebounds. Kendle Moore had 14 points. Stevens had 12 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Jalen Harris tied a career-high with 31 points and had seven assists for the Wolf Pack (13-9, 6-4). Zouzoua added 17 points and Lindsey Drew had 14 points and eight rebounds.

Ryan Swan (13.5 ppg) and A.J. Walker (12 ppg) are also scoring in double figures.
