Jalen Harris has been named the Mountain West Player of the Week after helping the Wolf Pack to a pair of home wins that moved the team into a tie for second place in the conference standings. Harris averaged 23.5 points, five rebounds and 6.5 assists in the two home victories. It is the second time this season Harris has earned the award.
In Nevada's 86-72 win over intrastate rival UNLV he scored a game-high 28 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out six assists without committing a turnover. Harris made 8-of-17 field goals and 9-of-11 free throws in the double figure victory.
Against New Mexico he scored 19 points, had five rebounds and a game-high seven assists without a turnover in the 96-74 victory. From the field he made 7-of-17 field goals and was good on 4-of-6 free throws.
On the season he leads the team scoring 18.9 points and grabbing 6.2 rebounds per outing. He is second on the team averaging 4.1 assists per game. The 18.9 points per game is second in the MW and his 22.6 points per game in MW play tops the conference.
Nevada takes to the road for two games this week at Colorado State on Wednesday and Boise State on Saturday. The CSU game is a 6 p.m. PT tip on ESPN3 while the BSU game will air on ESPNU at 7 p.m. PT.
