LA JOLLA, Calif.– The University of Nevada men's tennis team went 3-0 the opening weekend of the 2020 season after a 5-2 victory at UC San Diego on Sunday at the Northview Tennis Courts.  The Wolf Pack plays a doubleheader next Sunday starting a 10 a.m. at Sonoma State then face Holy Names at 1 p.m.

UCSD earned the doubles point with victories on courts 2 and 3.  Nevada's No. 1 team of Julien Evrard and Isaac Nortey won 6-4 but the Tritons scored a 6-3 victory at No. 3 doubles and clinched the point with a 7-5 victory at No. 2 doubles.

A 6-0, 6-3 win by Evrard on court 1 and 6-1, 6-4 by Nortey on court 2 put the Pack up to stay 2-1.  Delmas N'Tcha won in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4 singles and Benjamin Campi clinched the victory with the Wolf Pack's fourth straight sets victory 6-4, 6-4 on court 6. Gvidas Motuzas fell 6-4, 3-6, and 3-6 in his match at No. 5 singles.  Daniel Dudockin's three-set victory 4-6, 7-5, 10-4 made the final score 5-2 Nevada.
