SAN DIEGO – The University of Nevada men's tennis team opened the 2020 schedule with a dominating 4-0 shutout at Point Loma on Friday afternoon. The Wolf Pack plays at Azusa Pacific on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the second of three matches this weekend.
The Pack started the day sweeping the three doubles matches. Nevada's No. 1 doubles team of Julian Evrard and
Isaac Nortey blanked the Sea Lions duo 6-0 for the first win of the day.
Daniel Dudockin and
Gvidas Motuzas clinched the point with a 6-4 victory on court 2.
Benjamin Campi and
Delmas N'Tcha won 6-4 at No. 3 doubles to complete the sweep.
Nevada got wins at No. 4, 2 and 5 singles to take the match 4-0. N'Tcha won 6-2, 6-1 on court 4 to put the Pack up 2-0 in the first complete singles match. Dudockin won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3 singles and Motuzas clinched the victory with a 6-3, 6-2 win on court 5. At No. 1 singles Evrard won his first set 6-4 and was leading the second set 5-3 when the match was clinched. Campi had split his first two sets on court 6 when the match ended.
