Harris tallies 31 in loss to Aggies

Pack returns home Tuesday

LOGAN, Utah (AP) Neemias Queta had 19 points to lead five Utah State players in double figures as the Aggies defeated Nevada 80-70 on Saturday night.

Sam Merrill and Diogo Brito added 12 points apiece for Utah State while Brock Miller chipped in 11 points and Abel Porter had 10. Merrill also had eight rebounds and eight assists and Brito posted six rebounds.

Jalen Harris tied a career high with 31 points for the Wolf Pack (10-7, 3-2 Mountain West Conference). Jazz Johnson added 18 points. Lindsey Drew had seven rebounds.

Utah State (14-5, 3-3) plays Boise State on the road next Saturday. Nevada faces Wyoming at home on Tuesday.

Nevada (10-7, 3-2 MW) lost at Utah State (14-5, 3-3 MW) on Saturday by a score of 80-70 at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

On Tuesday, Jan. 15 Nevada hosts Wyoming (5-13, 0-6 MW) at 7 p.m. at Lawlor Events Center. The date was changed from the original schedule and season ticket holders may have the date as Jan. 15 on their tickets. 

The Wolf Pack has lost two in a row for just the second time this season after falling at USU tonight.

Junior Jalen Harris tied his career-high posting a game 31 points.  Harris also had 31 points earlier this season at Air Force.  He was 9-of-18 from the field including 5-of-8 from behind the arc.  The five made 3s tied his season high first accomplished against Fordham.

It was the sixth time Harris posted a game high, ninth time he led the Pack in scoring, 14th double figure scoring game, and eighth game of 20 or more points which includes the two 31-point games.

Harris played a season-high 39 minutes.

Senior Jazz Johnson scored 18 points all in the second half reaching double figures for a team-high 15th time this season.  For the first time this season Johnson did not score in the first half.  

Johnson made 3-of-8 from behind the arc. It was the 12th time this season he made three or more 3-pointers in game.  He has made a 3-pointer in every game this season.

Senior Lindsey Drew grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Drew is tied with Harris having led the Pack in rebounding in eight games this season.  His four assists led the Pack tonigh and it is the ¬¬11th time this season he led the team in assists.

Drew made his 110th start at Nevada tonight and appeared in his 116th game.

Senior Johncarlos Reyes had three blocks in the game to set a new season high.

First-year Nevada head coach Steve Alford is three wins from 600 in his 29th season of coaching college basketball.  Alford is 597-305.
