RENO, Nev. – The University of Nevada women's tennis team had great success on the first day of the Cal Fall Invitational in Berkeley, Calif. on Friday.  The Wolf Pack went 5-3 in doubles and 3-1 in doubles action.  The three-day invitational runs through Sunday. 
 
In the white singles bracket all four Pack players Selena Turulja, Anastasia Luneva, Anastaysha Gorbacheva, and Ksenia Shikanova earned victories and will compete in the round of 16 on Saturday.
 
Freshman Liza Mintusova needed three sets to earn her first college victory in the blue singles bracket.  Arina Gumerova and Carla Del Barrio both fell in the round of 32 in the gold singles bracket as did Roos Van Reek in blue singles.
 
Del Barrio and Gumerova posted an 8-2 victory in the gold doubles over a team from Pacific.  Van Reek and Mintusova scored an 8-4 win in the blue doubles while Luneva and Gorbacheva fell 8-1.  Turulja and Shikanova won 8-4 over the team from BYU in white doubles play.
