DAVIS, Calif. – On the first day of the fall season the University of Nevada men's tennis team sent four of its five players to the quarterfinals of the UC Davis Invitational today. All five players competing in the invitational earned at least one victory on Friday. The invitational continues through Sunday.
In the "A" singles senior
Julien Evrard received a bye then scored a three set victory 6-4, 6-7 and 7-5 over Issa Yosidha of Portland to advance to Saturday's quarterfinals.
Sophomore
Delmas N'Tcha won both of his match in straight sets in the "B" singles 6-3, 6-1 over Abdulaziz AlBayouk from Sacramento State and 6-3, 6-4 over Manroop Saini of Pacific to advance to the quarterfinals.
Benjamin Campi scored two victories downing Manroop Saini from Holly Names 7-5, 6-3 and in the round of 16 defeated Nathan Hampton of Pacific in three sets 3-6, 7-5 and 6-4.
Daniel Dudockin won both of his matches in straight sets defeating Harry Cohen of Sonoma State 6-2, 6-0 and Sacramento State's Michael Vizcarra 6-1, 6-2.
Sophomore
Gvidas Motuzas defeated Karlo Divkovic of Saint Mary's 6-0, 3-6, 6-3 in the round of 32 but lost his round of 16 match.
Both of the Pack's doubles team fell on day one.
