RENO, Nev. – As the 2019 Nevada football season opens, the Wolf Pack is moving tailgates closer to the stadium in an effort to enhance the energy and gameday experience for all fans.
The parking lots immediately north of Jensen Plaza, the new north entrance to Mackay Stadium that opened last season, are being converted to lots specifically for tailgating. Those lots include Jensen Plaza and the lots immediately north of the area that are now named Battle Born, Nevada Grit and Silver and Blue, respectively.
As part of the new tailgating experience, the Wolf Pack football team will arrive on campus at the new tailgating area and will walk through the lot to enter Mackay Stadium approximately 2:30 before game time.
"We want to enhance the gameday experience on our campus and that includes creating a fun and exciting environment around Mackay Stadium for our students, our alumni and everyone in our community," said athletics director
Doug Knuth.
The new tailgating lots did require some changes from of the previous parking lots around Mackay Stadium. Fans with parking permits for gamedays are encouraged to check the new
gameday parking map for their assigned lot.
