RENO, Nev. – The Nevada volleyball team finished the preseason with a loss to Pacific in five sets, 3-2. The Pack worked the first set to extra points and ultimately won it 28-26; they also won the fourth set, 25-21. The Tigers picked up the win in the fifth set, 15-11.
While the rotation changed every set, the freshman got ample time on the court behind the veteran group of
Kayla Afoa,
Camryn Rocha,
Hailey Maniglia and
Dalyn Burns. With a large group of newcomers and returners, the mix paid off in the two set victories.
Next for the Pack is the Sacramento State Invitational in Sacramento, Calif. where the Pack will match up with CSU Bakersfield first on Aug. 30 at 10:00 am before a 5:00 pm match against Canisius College. The tournament will wrap up on Aug. 31 with a 1:30 pm match up against host team, Sacramento State.
Nevada will host a four team tournament this year with Gonzaga, Southern Utah, California Baptist joining the Pack, beginning on Friday, Sept. 20. Tickets for the tournament and season tickets are available for purchase on nevadawolfpack.com.
