RENO, Nev. – Facing a 4-1 deficit in the ninth, No. 4 seed Nevada (29-25) plated two runs with the tying run at first in the final frame, but fell to No. 1 Fresno State (36-14-1) in the first round of the MW tournament 4-3. The Wolf Pack will play San Diego State tomorrow at 2 p.m. in a win-or-go-home contest.

Kaleb Foster was responsible for two of the Pack's three hits, including a solo shot in the opening inning over the right field wall to give Nevada an early 1-0 lead. The only other hit came in the form of a single in the eight inning by sophomore Joshua Zamora.

With Ryan Anderson earning the start, Nevada held onto its 1-0 lead into the fourth, until the Bulldogs loaded the bases with nobody out. Grant Ford came in relief, but thanks to a walk, a wild pitch and a two-RBI single, Fresno State plated its only four runs of the game in that inning.

Drama ensued in the ninth inning, when Foster and Tyler Bosetti each reached thanks to a walk, and a wild pitch moved them into scoring position. Conor Allard grounded out, but it allowed Foster to score and make the game 4-2 with two outs.

Freshman Matt Clayton came up to pinch hit, and walked to put the tying run on first. Unfortunately, Marco Valenzuela struck out and Nevada fell in round one.

The Nevada bullpen dominated the final four frames, only allowing three hits and no runs. Bradley Bonnenfant led the charge with four strikeouts for the Pack.

Tomorrow's contest will be live streamed on the Mountain West Network, with John Ramey on the call on 94.1 FM/1450 AM. Tickets are available online or by calling (775) 348-PACK.
