RENO, Nev.  – The University of Nevada (8-7, 0-1 MW) women's tennis team dropped its Mountain West opener at UNLV (12-6, 2-0 MW) 4-0 at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on Friday.  The Pack is now 8-7 on the season and 0-1 in MW play while the Rebels improved to 12-6 and 2-0 in conference action.  The UNLV is part of the Silver State Series.

The Rebels won the doubles point with victories on courts 1 and 3.  UNLV's Izumi Asano and Anna Bogoslavets defeated Maria Tatarnikova and Selina Turulja 6-2 at No. 3 doubles in the first completed match of the day.  The Rebels 48th ranked doubles team of En-Pei Huang and Aiwen Zhu won 6-3 over Nevada's Anastaysha Gorbacheva and Marta Ruedas on Court 1 to clinch the doubles point.
 
UNLV won the first three completed singles matches to take the match 4-0.  Asano won 6-1, 6-0 over Melissa Huchet on Court 2.  Huang defeated Roos Van reek 6-0, 6-3 in the No. 3 singles match.  The match was clinched by Zhu who is ranked 107 by the ITA with a 6-3, 6-4 win on Court 1 over Adriana Gergelyova.
