RENO, Nev. – Freshman Selina Turulja clinched the 4-3 victory as the University of Nevada (10-10, 1-3 MW) women's tennis team defeated San José State (9-7, 1-2 MW)  on Senior Day at the McArthur Tennis Center.  The Mountain West victory was the first of the season for the Wolf Pack as they finish the conference season 1-3 and 10-10 overall.  The Spartans fell to 9-7 and 1-3 in MW play.
 
Seniors Adriana Gergelyova and Marta Ruedas were honored for their contributions to Nevada tennis.
 
The Pack will travel to San Diego State next week to compete in the Mountain West Championship.  The opponent, time and date has yet to be announced.
 
Nevada trailed 3-2 but Anastaysha Gorbecheva tied it with a 7-6 (7-1), 1-6, and 6-2 victory on court 5.  At No. 4 singles Turulja dropped the first set 6-4 but battled back to win 6-2 in the second set to tie the match at a set apiece.   In the third set she won the tiebreaker 8-6 to win the deciding set 7-6 which clinched the 4-3 win for the Wolf Pack.
 
The Pack won the doubles point with wins on courts 1 and 2.  Marta Ruedas and Anastaysha Gorbacheva clinched the victory with a 6-4 win on court 1.  Adriana Gergelyova and Roos Van reek won their match 6-4 after the Spartans won on court 3.
 
SJSU tied the match at 1-1 with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles.  The Pack moved back in front 2-1 after Van reek's 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles.  Gergelyova fell in three sets 6-2, 2-6 and 6-2 on court 1 and it was tied once again at 2-2.  The Spartans went ahead 3-2 after a victory on court 6. 
 
The Pack won the final two matches on courts 5 and then 4 to win the match 4-3.
