Reno, Nev. – In a game that saw a run scored in six of the nine innings, Nevada (7-6, 0-2) dropped its second consecutive game to San Diego State (7-6, 2-1 MW) on Saturday night 8-5. The series finale between the two schools will take place tomorrow at 1 p.m.

Freshman Owen Sharts (2-2) took the loss after throwing 5.2 innings and only allowing one earned run. SDSU's Christian Winston (2-0) earned his second victory of the season pitching 1.1 frames.

None of the Pack's five runs scored came off hits, as three wild pitches, a throwing error and a passed ball resulted in all of Nevada's runs scoring from third base. The Pack scored four innings in a row, putting up a run from the fourth to the seventh inning.

Weston Hatten lead Nevada offensively, recording two doubles in his first two at-bats. Hatten scored in both of those plate appearances, plating the first two runs for the Pack in the game to give it a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning.

With Nevada leading 4-2 in the sixth, the Aztecs put together a four-run inning after scoring on a fielding error and a three-RBI double. Tyler Bosetti scampered home on a wild pitch in the top of the seventh to cut the deficit to one, but that's the closest the Pack would get to retaking the lead.

SDSU added another run in the seventh and eighth as insurance, and finished the contest with an 8-5 victory. Grant Ford pitched a hitless seventh inning, and has not allowed an earned run through 7.1 innings pitched this season.

Ghizal Hasan will call Nevada's finale tomorrow, only available online. A live stream on the Mountain West Network will be available too.
